The incident leading to the man's arrest happened on Saturday, Aug. 5 just before 5:30 p.m., when Dutchess County sheriff's deputies responded to a reported car crash and order of protection violation in LaGrange in the area of Noxon Road and Budd Lane.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, who was determined to be a wanted fugitive from Westchester, had fled into a wooded area before authorities arrived at the scene of the crash.

The caller who reported the incident had an active order of protection against the fugitive, the Sheriff's Office said.

Once authorities arrived in the area, a pursuit began and the Sheriff's Office's K9 Unit and Drone Unit responded to help with the chase.

Eventually, the suspect was caught in a remote area by a drone team, K9 Officer Cirr, and his handler, the Sheriff's Office said.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. More information may be released as it becomes available, authorities said.
